That is heavy beside current speed shoes, and the stiff support system makes the first few sessions feel even more substantial. The curved forefoot and spring structure keep it from moving like a brick, but quick guards will still notice more shoe during repeated cuts and open-court sprints.

What feels dated in 2026?

The KT 8 has not become a bad performer. The market has simply moved toward lighter uppers, cleaner foam systems, and less hardware around the foot. That makes the KT 8 feel more specialized now than it did at launch.

• The weight is difficult to ignore: newer shoes can deliver strong cushioning and torsional control with much less mass.
• The ride is controlled rather than explosive: its layered cushion protects well, but it does not return energy with the effortless snap of the best current PEBA-based platforms.
