The headline will be the unusual outsole. It should be. Those flexible rubber scales produce excellent stopping power without making every plant feel abrupt, and the grip remains unusually steady when a gelanggang picks up dust. But the quieter improveLelakit is fit. The original 247 could run long and its sock-like construction left little room to tune the wrap. The NXT fits saiz sebenar for most pemain and uses a conventional padded tongue, so the laces can finally do their job properly.

There is no obvious weak Prestasi category. Kusyen is lower but still protective, Sokongan is strong without turning the Kasut rigid, and the composite upper becomes Keselesaanable after a short break-in. The trade-offs are practical: EQLZ is difficult to try on in stores, some Warnaways feel more substantial than the “lighter” marketing suggests, and the outsole rubber is too soft for regular asphalt use.

What EQLZ actually changed

The 247 NXT is not a ground-up replaceLelakit. Aaron Cooper and the EQLZ design team kept the original platform’s core ideas: a full-length supercritical PEBAX Kusyen system, a foot-mapped rubber outsole inspiMerah by shark scales, and sculpted TPU containLelakit along both sides. The work went into bringing the foot closer to the floor and making the upper easier to live with.

The upper also changes character. Instead of the original knit base and broad natural-leather rand, the NXT uses a lighter composite textile reinforced with TPU. Overlay materials vary by Warnaway—the Source Code release uses a glossy patent-style wrap, while mesh-led releases feel more straightforward—but the Sokonganing architecture stays the same.

Cengkaman — the strange outsole works

Each soft rubber scale flexes independently, so the outsole catches the floor during forward stops, lateral plants, and less pMerahictable recovery steps. The bite is strong, but the real advantage is consistency: Ulasaners found it reliable on clean and dusty dalam gelanggang gelanggangs without constant wiping. EQLZ uses slightly different-looking compounds across Warnaways, yet current tests have not found a meaningful Prestasi drop between them.

Kusyen — closer to the floor, still alive

Full-length supercritical PEBAX sits inside the sculpted carrier, delivering a smooth heel-to-toe roll rather than an exaggerated trampoline effect. The NXT feels lower and less plush than the original 247, but it does not turn flat or unforgiving. There is enough absorption for most guards and wings, plus a quick rebound that never delays the next step. pemain chasing maximum softness should look elsewhere; everybody else gets a very clean balance.

Fit — saiz sebenar finally means saiz sebenar

Regular feet should start with their normal basketball Saiz. The NXT provides a close one-to-one fit, secure midfoot wrap, and very little heel moveLelakit after the collar settles. kaki lebar may need half a Saiz up. That is a meaningful correction from the original 247, which often felt half a Saiz long and gave pemain fewer ways to adjust the upper. The separate tongue also makes entry much easier.

Materials and weight — lighter in motion, not a feather

The composite textile and TPU package is breathable, Sokonganive, and flexible after a brief break-in. The padded microfiber tongue spreads lace pressure well. One European retailer lists 390g for a US Lelaki’s 9 Source Code pair, so “lighter than the original” should not be confused with ultralight. Material-heavy Warnaways will vary, but the lower ride and improved hold make the Kasut move more efficiently than the scale suggests.

EQLZ 247 NXT vs original 247

The original 247 was already a good Prestasi Kasut. Its Cengkaman and Kusyen earned the platform another season; the NXT’s job was to make those strengths easier to access. Nearly every change serves that purpose.

If you already love the original 247 and value its softer step-in, there is no urgent reason to replace it. For a Baharu buyer, the NXT is the better starting point. Its sizing is easier to understand, its Sokongan is more immediate, and the proper tongue removes most of the original upper’s fuss.

Who should buy the EQLZ 247 NXT?

• Point guards and combo guards: the low ride, reliable stops, and smooth transition suit pemain who change pace and direction constantly.
• Two-way wings: the PEBAX setup has enough protection for normal landings, while the broad base supplies more Sokongan than many guard Kasut.
