The released GT Cut 4 has pushed the GT Cut series to its peak, and the recent CHBL colorways have sparked a whole new wave of hype.

This is far from just a simple new colorway. Nike has updated the tech and comfort, delivering a more dialedin fit along with a tougher XDR outsole that offers better grip and traction.

After collecting a ton of feedback from players, Nike upgraded the tooling to create a fresher, more complete oncourt experience. Many fans are already calling this the bestlooking GT Cut 4 so far, and the Nike GT Cut 4 EP “CHBL” has earned a reputation as a toptier performance sneaker thanks to all the finetuned details. The catch? Both colorways are China exclusives.

ChinaExclusive “Galaxy” Colorways

The Nike GT Cut 4 EP “CHBL” drops in two Galaxyinspired colorways. The upper uses fullfoam construction, taking obvious cues from the classic Foamposite line from the ’90s. This time, Nike paints a bold galaxy graphic over the foam, instantly catching the eye and driving demand.

Both of these colorways, surprisingly, are only available in China, which has left a lot of international fans confused and frustrated. In addition to the blue Galaxy version, there’s a second pair built around a red, nebulastyle theme. The combination of color and material really amplifies the visual impact of the foam upper, making these pairs stand out on any court.

Upgrades to Upper, Tongue, and Outsole

As mentioned, Nike moved quickly based on real feedback from players. Fullfoam uppers are often criticized for being too stiff and lacking flexibility, so Nike set out to fix that.

Upper & tongue: The materials on the upper and tongue have been reworked to offer more flexibility without sacrificing support. Finding that sweet spot between flexibility and structure is a challenge for any brand using fullfoam uppers.

Tongue padding: Nike thickened the tongue area to improve lockdown and comfort, making the midfoot feel more stable and better cushioned.

XDR outsole: The biggest performance upgrade is the XDR rubber outsole, which is a must for serious hoop shoes — especially for outdoor runs. It delivers stronger durability and more consistent traction.

Underfoot, the shoe features fulllength Air Zoom Strobel combined with ZoomX cushioning, creating a setup that checks all the boxes: comfort, responsiveness, flexibility, and stability.

Maybe the most important takeaway is the signal Nike is sending: they’re willing to iterate quickly based on player feedback. The GT Cut 4 EP “CHBL” isn’t just a new colorway — it’s proof that Nike is tightening the feedback loop and pushing performance design forward in real time.
